Be who you really are

  • If your personality isn’t in what you do, its value dies.
  • If your personality is somehow repressed, contained or - worse - controlled, your value dies.
  • If you’re not given the possibility to express your personality where you work, your job’s value dies.
  • If you prize your value, be who you are.

    Michael,

I have been reading your blog sporadically for a few months and today just decided to read some older posts. This post made me cry…literally broke down like a baby because I haven’t been myself. Just reading those words summed up my discontent - change is a coming!! Thank you.

    Hey SF.

It was a dark moment. Very dark. I guess I got to the point where I couldn’t ignore the scenery any more, and when I looked the distance between the professional me and the real me was more than I could take.

The angst is still there, and the desire to scrub away the crust that’s formed over what’s left of my true personailty is now stronger than ever. Change is coming for sure!

If you want to see where you are with whatever it is you’re trying to achieve, willingly or not, I thoroughly recommend Seth Godin’s The Dip.
